Situated just outside the village, but only a 3 minute walk to the Bridge Inn and the Fish Hotel, both excellent pubs offering good grub and excellent beer. There is also an excellent tea shop close by, and a bus stop for local transport. Buttermere Lake and Crummock Water are only a short walk away, with some fabulous walking on your doorstep, including Red Pike, Grasmoor, Robinson and Haystacks (Wainwright's favourite fell).
